2 LAYERS 3 WAYS

Workshop Description

Any lace patterns can be worked using these methods.

‘CONNECT AT EVERY STITCH’

Two layers of different colors creates a two-sided piece of lace with different colors on topside and underside. Also creates a very dense stable lace with visual depth. This works especially well in dimensional wire bobbin lace when manipulating the finished lace; the underside and topsides become part of the visual appeal with their two different colors adding variety.

‘CONNECT AT THE EDGES’

Two layers of the same or different colors which are connected at the edges form a tube. This lace tube may be filled with flexible plastic tubing, giving the lace tremendous structural stability. It can also be filled with decorative elements such at beads.

‘CONNECTED PERIODICALLY’

Exchanging the two layers by bring the underside to the top side; shapes of different colors can be created. When one additional row on the topside is made a raised arch is formed.
